We gotcher branches sewn down (a major pain, I might add). Nylon thread machine applique. And 22 leaves ready to go! Better get sewing!

Yup...I decided to do the "extra" applique. Couldn't live with myself if I didn't. The tree limbs go on first (there are more to come), then leaves, and finally the martins. Even with machine applique, this is going to take some time. But the end result will be worth it! (I hope).

Moving in a positive direction. Took my freezer paper drawing and cut out the pieces. There are still the "bird holes" to be put on, as well as some ledges, and of course the pole. Then it's on to the birds. I've been thinking of doing some other applique, too, that wasn't in the original plan. Will have to see how it fits in.

Decided to make a little something...very little in fact (4"x6"). I usually don't work this small, but found it kind of fun. Instant gratification really. Being able to free-cut fused fabrics and just gluein' 'em down was definitely liberating. Now, back to the larger project.

After encountering some sort of virus last week that had me in bed for an entire day (and proceeding to throw out every leftover in the refrigerator just in case), I present the finished background.

Now it is on to the applique, which is giving me some color and construction fits right now. But I'm back on schedule, doing at least one thing a day to aid in this quilt's completion.
