I have finally gotten to work on some class samples. This is called One Yard Hearts. The nice people at Brubaker's Sewing Center (www.brubakerssewing.com) are hosting the class on September 24th. Just a half day of cutting and fusing with one yard of multi-colored fabric. Very freeing and a lot of fun.

I just got a new batch of dye powder from Pro Chemical along with some Print Paste Mix which I have never tried. I've done some color work with dye sticks, but didn't like the crayon-y lines. I'm hoping to get some better results with dye thickened with the Mix. I'll either have great results...or a huge mess. Some of my messes have been legendary. Like the time I tried to use basting spray on a twin size quilt on the deck. The wind blew up one corner and not thinking, I stepped on it. Then I stepped on it again with my other foot to free up the already stuck foot. It got worse from there. The batt ended up stuck together. I had leaves and other tree leavings stuck to my feet, which of course ended up lodged in the batt. I ended up calling in reinforcements (husband) to help me get the thing flat again.

Yup...you live...you learn.

Oh NO, sorry, but I just spit out my coffee laughing! Sounds like exactly the sort of thing I would do...
Have fun with your class! I like your sample. Jen
