I'm Gonna Get Me Some Mouse Ears
So at 2:30 AM we are to be at the high school, board a bus, and head to Phila. airport for a whirlwind tour of the Disney complex in Florida. Weather says 90 degrees during the day and 67 at nite. This means that my pastey white cottage cheese thighs will make their first appearance of the season. Ugh. But I didn't bother to either get "cooked" or sprayed at a tanning place, so I guess that's what I get. I did get 80 half-squares completed this week. Also got my math paper completed. And....Drum Roll, Please....As long as I finish my last quiz on Tuesday, I am exempt from the Math final. Yes!
Speaking of Math. This class has been a bit of an eye opener. I've really been math-phobic for many years (except for accounting-type math, which is how I've made (and still do) my living for the past 18 years. But studying all of these math giants since January, I almost wish I knew more about higher levels of math. Take my last paper on Andrew Wiles. Now this is a fellow who made "geek" chic! Anyway, he was smitten with Fermat's Last Theorem since he was 10 years old. He ended up working away at it his entire life, finally getting proof of the theorem in 1993, by using several other "maths" to solve the problem. Kind of an If-Then situation...If he could prove one theorem, then he could prove Fermat. I announced this to my husband over lunch yesterday. He looked as though I had lost my mind. I guess I've spent so much time obsessing over Newton, Leibniz, Wiles, Fermat, Euclid and many others, that it is with a bit of sadness that I let go of my math class. But with an A, baby! So I will let it go.
Reality check, I got my bill for summer from college. Please fork over $1417 by May 15. I am taking American History Post-1877 and Geology & Lab. This will meet half of my Science requirement and half of my History requirement. I'm taking a third class this summer: Contemporary Moral Problems, which should be insightful, and finish off the History requirement.
Last Saturday at Boyd's Bears was lots of fun with Dawn the Appraiser. We saw lots of quilts in the morning and it sort of tapered off in the PM. Dawn is very gracious and I learned much from observing her in action.

Congrats on the A and isn't tuition a royal pain? The education is priceless, but oh my does it take a bite out of the pocketbook. Enjoy the modern American History class (and yes, that time period IS considered "modern" even though it starts over 125 years ago!).
